Cowichan Bay Public Waterfront

Hecate Park 

Hecate park, located at 1865 Cowichan Bay Road, Cowichan Bay, is the jewel of the bay. The park is located beside the Cowichan Bay Boat Launch, the Cowichan Bay Estuary  Nature Centre and the Cowichan Bay Marine Gateway.  This 2.51 hectare park offers a public beach with picnic area as well as a wildlife viewing tower and toilet facilities.  Public parking and public transit are also available.

Cowichan Bay Boat Launch 

The boat launch is also located at 1865 Cowichan Bay Road, Cowichan Bay. The Cowichan Bay Boat Launch is the only public boat launch located between Mill Bay and North Cowichan.  The 2.31 hectare park is situated beside Hecate Park, and provides boat trailer parking.  An easy waterfront walking trail wraps around the northeast side. Toilet facilities are available as well as public transit.  Please remember that there is no overnight parking allowed in the park. To get here travel east off the Trans-Canada Highway onto Koksilah Road. Take a left onto Cowichan Bay Road through the seaside village of Cowichan Bay and the park will be visible on the right across from Wessex Road.

Cowichan Bay Marine Gateway 

The Cowichan Bay Marine gateway is located at 1865 Cowichan Bay Road, Cowichan Bay and is a perfect place to launch your kayak or canoe for a day on the water.  The park is equipped with a picnic shelter and a Naturescape play area. Use the public dock to launch small boats. To get here, head east off the Trans-Canada Highway onto Koksilah Road and take a left onto Cowichan Bay Road through the seaside village of Cowichan Bay. The park is on the right hand side, just past Hecate Park and the viewing platform. A small parking area is located at the site.
