UPDATE: October 24, 2021

By order of the Provincial Health Officer (PHO), proof of vaccination (BC Vaccine Card) is required to access some events, services and businesses. Recreation services are affected by this new initiative and we are required to follow all Provincial Health Orders (PHO). As of October 24, you must be fully vaccinated (2 doses of COVID-19 vaccination). The requirement is in place until January 31, 2022 and could be extended. Our requirements are as follows:

General Services

General Services
(Bill payment, program registration, transit sales, etc.)
will not be required to show proof of vaccination.


Programs

Adult (22+) 
Sports and Fitness Programs
will be required to show proof of vaccination along with your government issued ID.
Adult (22+) Programs 
Not physical in nature
will not be required to show proof of vaccination unless attendance is over 50 people.
Youth (21 and under) 
Sports and Programs
will not be required to show proof of vaccination unless participating in an adult program.
Parents supervising their child are also exempt from proof of vaccination.
Public Skate Sessionswill not be required to show proof of vaccination.


Spectators

Spectators at Indoor Programswill not be required to show proof of vaccination unless attendance is over 50 people.
Spectators at Indoor Events 
(Minor Hockey Games / Skating Club Events, Islanders Jr. B Hockey Games, and all other events)
ages 12 and older will be required to show proof of vaccination at any event with over 50 people.


User Groups

Youth User Groups

No further requirements at this time.
Note: User groups renting our space are entitled to impose any further restrictions over and above the PHO at their discretion.
Adult User Groups 

If you run an adult sport or fitness program, you will be required to check your participants (ages 22+) to ensure they have proof of vaccination. You will be required to email Sheena Boyles to confirm you understand the requirements and you, as the contract holder, will be responsible for checking. As of Monday, September 13, each participant in this category must have received their first vaccination. There is no requirement to record proof, it is just a visual check.
Note: User groups renting our space are entitled to impose any further restrictions over and above the PHO at their discretion.
Adult Programs / MeetingsNo further requirements at this time if your group is under 50 people. If your group is 50+ people, you will be required to ask for proof of vaccination upon arrival.


The mask mandate is still in effect; everyone ages 5 and older will be required to wear a mask when entering/exiting the facility and while participating in the program unless it’s physical in nature such as dance classes.
