UPDATED: December 20, 2021

By order of the Provincial Health Officer (PHO), proof of vaccination (BC Vaccine Card) is required to access most recreation services; you must be fully vaccinated (2 doses of COVID-19 vaccination). The requirement is in place until January 31, 2022 and could be extended. Effective December 20, please be prepared to have your QR code scanned (ages 12+) and show government issued ID (ages 18+) in order to enter most programs and activities within our facilities. 

The following Proof of Vaccination requirements apply to those ages 12 and older:

General Services

General Services
(Bill payment, program registration, transit sales, etc.)
will not be required to show proof of vaccination.


Programs and Sports (Indoor)

Adult Programs and Sports
will be required to show proof of vaccination.
All fitness and dance classes are suspended through to January 18, 2022.
Youth Programs and Sportswill not be required to show proof of vaccination (unless participating in an adult program).
Parents staying to spectate will be required to show proof of vaccination. If your child requires your assistance in getting ready and you are not able to provide proof of vaccination, please contact Programming staff at your centre to determine options.
All Public Skate Sessions
ages 12 and older will be required to show proof of vaccination. Including all non-skaters and spectators.
EventsAll events (other than sports games) are suspended through to January 18, 2022.
Sports TournamentsAll adult and youth sports tournaments are suspended through to January 18, 2022.


Spectators (Indoor)

Spectators at Indoor Programswill be required to show proof of vaccination.
Spectators at Indoor Events 
(Minor Hockey Games / Skating Club Events, Junior Hockey Games, and all other events)
will be required to show proof of vaccination.


User Groups (Indoor)

Youth User Groups

Any adult accompanying/attending youth groups will be required to show proof of vaccination.
Note: User groups renting our space are entitled to impose any further restrictions over and above the PHO at their discretion.
Adult User Groups 

You will be required to check participants to ensure they have proof of vaccination. You will be required to email Marie Grandage to confirm you understand the requirements and you, as the contract holder, will be responsible for checking. As of October 24, each participant in this category must be fully vaccinated (2 doses of COVID-19 vaccination). There is no requirement to record proof, it is just a visual check.
Note: User groups renting our space are entitled to impose any further restrictions over and above the PHO at their discretion.
MeetingsBoth Local Government and Occupational Meetings are exempt from the order; most other meetings will be required to show proof of vaccination. Please call your respective recreation centre if you are unsure.
Social Gatherings / Private RentalsAll social gatherings and private rentals are suspended through to January 18, 2022.


Outdoor Programs and Sports, Spectators, User Groups

Adult & Youthwill not be required to show proof of vaccination.
Sports TournamentsAll adult and youth sports tournaments are suspended through to January 18, 2022.


The mask mandate is still in effect; everyone ages 5 and older will be required to wear a mask when entering/exiting the facility and while participating in the program unless it’s physical in nature such as dance classes.
