During the pause on indoor low intensity fitness classes, we are offering the programs described below in an outdoor setting. Programs will be in a small gravel parking lot at the side of the Mill Bay Community Hall. Registration is on a per class basis and can be completed via our online portal or by phoning 250.743.5922. Registration opens 3 days in advance of each class and will close 30 minutes before the class starts. Prior to attending your program, please review the safety plan and applicable program guidelines on our COVID-19 & Recreation page.
Things to note about outdoor fitness programming:
- Participants should be comfortable on a slightly uneven surface (gravel parking lot).
- Participants may experience ambient traffic noise, dust or disruptions.
- Weather conditions may change quickly and we'll do our best to adjust.
- Participants should consider dressing in layers in preparation for spring conditions.
- The benefits of outdoor experiences are well documented, so come out and give it a try!
The weather status of the program (open air, covered, cancelled) will be updated by 9:30 a.m. each day that's listed below (to the best of our ability based on the predictability of the weather).
Participants must check this page or call Kerry Park Recreation Centre at 250.743.5922 for weather status updates as rec centre staff won't be phoning participants with status updates.

Outdoor Fit Forever
This is an exercise program designed for adults ages 55 and up, who may require special considerations to their exercise routine. The goal of this class is to provide a specially designed program to help you reach your fitness goals while respecting your limitations.

Outdoor Chair Yoga
This class is for those who may feel uncomfortable getting up and down or unsteady on their feet and don’t want to participate in traditional yoga classes. This class will benefit you by increasing flexibility, mobility and joint strength through gentle poses while sitting or using the support of a chair.
