The Cowichan Valley Regional District is seeking expressions of interest from qualified individuals who wish to be considered for nomination to the Nanaimo Airport Commission (NAC) Board commencing early 2026.
Nominee Requirements:
- Must not hold Federal, Provincial, or Municipal elected office.
- Must not be employed by or provide full-time services to any government department, agency, or government-owned corporation.
- Must not be bankrupt or have a criminal conviction related to employment.
- Must reside within a 75 km radius of Nanaimo Airport.
- Must be a Canadian citizen.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- Licensed lawyer in good standing.
- Extensive professional experience with executive leadership in business, community organizations, and/or government.
- Strong understanding of the community and the role of Nanaimo Airport.
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and ability to build consensus.
- Willingness to commit time for Board meetings, committees, planning sessions, and special events.
The initial term for a suitable nominee is for a 3-year period, however, the NAC Board has the option to renew the appointment of a nominee for a period of two more terms, not to exceed nine (9) years.
